You could speed up the inevitable and just rear end them.

I’d just call your local PD’s non-emergency line and give them the situation and plate number.

Pull up next to them, roll down your window and wave your arms frantically until they roll down theirs. Or pull a gun on you. This is MURRICA, you never know. Fun for everyone!

Yeah pull along side them and say “Hey all of your brake lights stay on even when you accelerate”

This is, as they say, how it’s done.

Fuck it then. Last night at a red light in the rain I saw a car across from me at the other red light with no lights on, in the past I would’ve tried to flash my brights to signal them, now I just don’t care.

Also saw a car the other day that had a wobbling wheel, oh well. Not my car not my problem, if the owners/drivers don’t care I’m done wasting even a single ounce of energy on telling them.

It’s probably a driving habit problem rather than an issue with the car. They brake with the left foot and then their foot gets tired meaning they rest it on the pedal which results in the lights being on all the time.

I pondered this possibility also. I did notice that when they indicated to turn the brake light did flash, so perhaps everything is working as it should and it is operator error

except it is going to be someone else who pays the price, and in most accidents the person who does the rear ending will be at fault without discussion.

I see this all the time in Louisiana. I usually pull along side and tell them their brake lights are stuck on. I usually follow up with the comment, “either that or you’re resting your foot on the brake,” in that sarcastic, no way it would ever happen, voice. Their reactions always reveal the truth.

Nobody likes to be embarrassed by a stranger.
